I should have written about this a month ago, but I forgot. Anyway...the April issue of URB Magazine is actually really fresh. I'm usually not feeling them but they're April issue has a feature on the next 1000 artists to watch, and it is pretty much right on. While they slept on the Heathen (we aint mad at them), they did a three page article on the Institubes crew in Paris. Tacteel, Para One, and Teki all get full page pictures. Definitely go buy this, read about the movement, and see why you're retarded if you don't come out to Geneva in December for the Villa Magica X-Mas Party

Boston native RATE doing what he does for Boundless NY in Brooklyn. Pretty fresh as usual. I wish he would do a book of cartoons or get into animation. In addition to his illustrations, his handstyles are truly on some next shit and have been for a long time. Barry McGee must agree because he included a RATE tag in his Prada Foundation book a couple years back.

Interesting article on Alan Ket in today's NYTimes. I met Alan the last time I was in NYC with DEAR in the Lower East Side. KET has produced some very nice and thorough books about graffiti art and culture. Check them out HERE.
KET is also somewhat of an ambassador for the culture, writing semi-regualr articles for Mass Appeal Magazine and appearing prominently in Marc Ecko's Graffiti-themed video game, Getting Up. He was a great graffiti writer in the late 80s and throughout the 90s repping RIS, XTC and other reputable and respected crews. I'm sure I speak for a lot of people when I say I hope that New York City doesn't succeed in making an example out of him.
