Today I went here for a haircut because I heard all the hype that Rudy's is the haircut jump off in Seattle. They have like 15 locations on the West Coast but I went to the original one because I wanted the authentic experience. Ha! It was surprisingly inexpensive for a buzz but I got a pretty mediocre hair cut. The atmosphere was kind of nice though (art installation on the back wall and show posters tacked up all over the place), so whatever.I really dig Seattle. It's a cool place. Capitol Hill is where all the design shops and cool boutiques are at/around. I went to a bunch of places that I researched on Superfuture but I was kind of disappointed with the selections I found. It seemed like every store carried the same NYC brands like ANYTHING and IRAK. No diss to them but that stuff is kind of becoming a dime a dozen. It's getting to a point where it's too repetitive and non-progressive. What ever happened to the concept of NEW IMAGERY? I did manage to find a pair of sneakers that I'm pretty siked about at a store called GOODS-which is the Alife of Seattle. They had an OK installation by Stussy in the store but it was nothing worth taking a picture of. The staff was very cool though. I also checked out a furniture shop called Area 51 that had some cool stuff. It didn't have super high end design but reminded me of A Future Perfect in Williamsburg.Graffiti I've seen here: SOBER from NYC, ADEK TKO from San Fran, KUMA from NYC, CECSTER from NYC, the homey KATSUE from NYC, KERSE from Seattle or maybe San Fran (been digging his stuff for a minute!), a bunch of BTM crew stuff (not feeling it), some KYT crew stuff (not feeling it) and some other TKO stuff(all looks the same).
Yesterday I forgot that Claw Money was featured in an article in The New York Times. The article is about interns in the media game and also features Mark the Cobrasnake among others. I have interned everywhere, and while the work can be really wack, interning is key because it gives you the opportunity to meet a lot of people. I wrote a little something about my experience being an intern here. Click on "Internships" to check it out.

New Orleans is probably the most interesting city in the country right now. It's so neglected that cool things must be happening there. I'd like to go check it out someday but I don't see that happening any time soon. If you haven't done so already, check out the Mad Decent Podcast from the Noila!
Also...Mark your calendar. The homeboy Kevin as well as Red Foxx and a bunch of other people are playing records at this thing:
Ok. I'm off to Seattle now. Hopefully I'll get a picture of Ichiro.

When I was in high school ALERT was an icon to me. In addition to having some of the most creative tags and pieces, he also pushed the limits as exemplified by the panels he painted at the tressels (shown above). I've been meaning to post this for a while, but here is a HISTO addition to the tressels that I think is incredible. It wasn't until I saw this fresh boat by HISTO that I realized he was really onto something.

Heather's friend is the world's largest collector of Mr. T stuff and he's the subject of this video Diplo made.
Boost Mobile Rockcorps
Check out this Boost Mobile Rockcorps Video
I did a project called The Game Behind The Game Tour with Project 2050 and Darryl Buttler from Boost Mobile last year. It was nice to see how Boost gets down. They really understand and want to communicate with young people in a way that makes sense.
While I was at 2050, Shepard Fairey did the logo for another Boost Mobile event called Rockcorps. The concept is fresh. You do some community service and in return you get a ticket to see a really good concert. So far it's been all hip hop and every show features suprisingly current and relevent artists like: Kanye West, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Paul Wall, SlimThug, etc rather than the Roots or Mos Def. I think there's real potential here and now it looks like Rockcorps is taking off so I'm excited to see where these guys go with it.

Grinding Like The Clipse...
Today was cool. I like the office and the people and I'm excited to start cranking in Miami. On a completely different note, here's an article about the craziness that is Hot97 in New York.Shout out to Steph Lova who gets some shine in this article for her documented beef with Funk Flex. She can thank "judd the thug" for that gmail account.

The Waiting Game...
I'm sitting in my hotel room waiting for the World Cup final to start. Here are some things I'm digging right now:
The new DJ A-Trak website. I get wrapped up in dood's pictures and stories. I'm also feeling the site for Dust La Rock , who did the re-design of A-Trak's site.

Shep finally Gets a Big Book
I don't know if anyone noticed, but in this week's episode of "Entourage," the crew is walking around in their house, and they pass a HUGE Shepard Fairey painting of LL Cool J. Shep has been doing his damn thing for a minute and can be credited after COST and REVS with pretty much setting off this whole street art thing. Shepard Fairey has finally published a complete retrospective of his work called Supply and Demand on Ginko Press. (Very cool that he chose to do this book with a small, indy publishing company btw). It's a really big book that features interviews and essays with all types of interesting folks, including my homeboy Roger. I'm siked to read it. From what I hear it's pretty impressive. You can buy an autographed copy by Shep HERE or you can buy it at a local bookstore or somewhere else online.
Also...I thought I'd post this because I was just listening to the first Obie Trice album and it made me think about Proof's early passing. Check this poster that Shep did in collaboration with the D-12 camp.
I'm about to catch the chinatown bus back to NYC and say peace to Boston for a long time. It sucks cause I've had the pleasure of spending lots of time up here over the last six months and I've made some great friends. It was cool to be here one last time to see the fireworks, my friends and my parents. I'll be back for Thanksgiving, I hope. Anyway...on another tip, check Mike GIANT'S Blog. It's really rad and inspiring. Enjoy
